Department of History

The Department of History of Aronai college, Kokrajhar, affiliated to Bodoland University had its inception since the establishment of the college itself in the year 2013 . At present the Department has provision for teaching in Higher Secondary level and three year Degree courses both for Regular and Major Courses. However, Major course was introduced from 2017 in History Department for the session of 2017-18.

The department is committed to give students quality education and persistently works to achieve its goal for the interest of the society. Teachers of the department are also actively engaged in academic pursuits. Currently two teachers are actively engaged in the Department.

1. H. S Program – General English, Alternative English.

2. . Three Year Degree Courses (Major and Regular)

Objective

The basic objectives of the Department is to impart meaningful and quality education to the students on the courses offered by the college.The course is designed in such a manner so as to provide an in -depth study of the History of our country in a global retting. The department of History of the college is making effort to improve the department. It has introduced classes in Major as well as for Regular courses in order to improve the competence of the students and through the sessional test and home assignments students are made capable to challenge their examination. The study of History is as important as other subjects and discipline. Many students have passed out from the Department, from Higher Secondary level as well as from three year Degree Courses. The Department has a long way to go and it is expected to achieve its good academic growth in the years to come.
